Two mature trees can supply enough oxygen annually to support a family of four.
The Chicago Trees Initiative (CTI) is a coalition of government and non-profit agencies focused on expanding and improving Chicago's Urban Forest. Our mission is to improve quality of life in Chicago by increasing public awareness about the value and importance of trees. By preserving and planting trees, we increase our urban forest - one of the most valuable environmental assets on the planet. Our goal is to achieve a citywide average tree canopy cover of 20% by 2020. In order to meet this goal, we need people to step forward and get involved! This Web site contains current information and links to many organizations that help maintain Chicago's Urban Forest. Please help make Chicago a greener and healthier city!
